January 2018

Welcome back!  We have hit the ground running and I'm super impressed how well the kindergarteners are adjusting back to school!  I'll say it again and again...the children in this class are most delightful and they fill my bucket every day!  They get along so well together and are so much fun to be around and teach!  THANK YOU for sharing them with me!

We will be talking about God keeping His promise to Simeon as he saw baby Jesus when Mary and Joseph took him to the temple at 40 days old.  We will also talk about the visit of the Magi (which they know didn't happen until Jesus was around 2 years old).  We are thankful that God is good - all the time - and that He always keeps His promises to us.

We will work in Letterbook B/R the next couple of weeks.  We are learning about how the SuperKids want to make a club so they can spend time together as friends.  We are reading and writing sentences in our Journals and talking about what kind of club we would make if we could make one.

In Math we will learn about measuring and weighing things.  We will review counting by 2's and 10's and writing our numbers.

We will learn about our country and it's symbols in Social Studies.  Alexander and his dad will be our "Scientists of the Week" tomorrow!  Throw new centers in ("Mrs. Dartmann, you must be rich to buy us all these new things!" - (Me) "Actually, my husband knows how happy it makes me to make you happy with new things  so he lets me buy you new thing!" TRUTH!!) and art and we have a busy yet fun week!!

Don't forget to check out Mrs.Kuntz's blog.  She posts pictures of STEM class activities!

Have a great week in Jesus!
